About This

Now just a listening blog, it was formerly this...

On view is a catalogue of string quartet recordings. To keep the collection classical, it is limited to material composed by individuals born before 1780. This isn't perfect, but it will do. I offer no reviews of my own, but comments and polite critiques are welcomed.

The catalogue's purpose is to demonstrate which of these special compositions can be heard in a professional recording. It is assuredly not to list every such recording.

Special thanks are owed to Michael Iscenko for material contributions to the list, and to Michael Kernaghan for indulging my indecision over whether or not to post this stuff to an actual website.

New posts will be made, and old ones updated, as discoveries occur.
